Stover To Start
January 7th, 2010 | by brooksbusch |The Indy Star has reported that Matt Stover will be in charge of the placekicking duties for the Indianapolis Colts in the playoffs. Possible Hall of Fame kicker, Adam Vinatieri, will still be on the roster, and could possibly kick in certain situations if needed. Although Vinatieri has had many crucial kicks throughout his career, especially in the playoffs, Stover has been under playoff pressure as well, and offers the same veteran mindset.
Stover has appeared in five postseason games, and is 15-20 in his postseason career. Stover is a good option this season, converting 9-11 field goals, but now is the time where you would like to see Vinatieri healthy. The Colts signed him as a free agent because of his phenomenal postseason resume. However, Vinatieri has never lived up to expectations here in Indy, and it looks like the Patriots let this guy walk at the right time. Stover has postseason experience and as a veteran with his resume, you would expect the Colts to be fine in the kicking game.
