Sorgi Done for the Year

December 10th, 2009 | by brooksbusch |

According to Adam Schefter via Twitter the Colts have placed quarterback Jim Sorgi on Injured Reserve, and have signed offensive tackle Michael Toudouze. Sorgi was never considered a top of the line backup quarterback, but his knowledge and experience with the offense gave some comfort to Colts fans. However, after seeing what Sorgi can offer this team, and now with his recent season-ending injury, Colts fans have to wonder how much longer this guy will be around. If Manning should go down there is no question that the Colts would be a completely different team, but with Sorgi at quarterback I doubt this team would even make the playoffs. It may be time for the Colts to finally start looking around for a sound backup quarterback, because you never know when you are going to lose your franchise. Just ask the Patriots.

We need to get rid of this guy. Let’s hope Painter turns out ok.

The Colts need to send a scout to Hanover College, they have a stud at quarterback. Keep an eye out for C.J. Croft.

Agreed. What about Bob Sanders? He hasn’t played a full game since the beginning of the 08 season and takes up too much salary room. I say cut him loose and start fishing for a new safety.
